Case Study: The Demon's Child
The Challenge
Shooting a feature film at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic required navigating unprecedented restrictions. With strict health protocols, limited crew capacity, and constrained financial resources, the challenge was to produce a full-length horror film without compromising on safety, storytelling, or visual quality.
The Approach
I restructured the script to reduce cast size and location changes, allowing us to film with a lean crew while maintaining narrative tension and visual impact. Production was driven by precise scheduling, tight cost control, and adaptive planning. I oversaw every aspect, from directing and set coordination to editing, ensuring that creative decisions aligned with evolving safety requirements. As with many of my independent productions, we relied on artisanal, resourceful methods to stretch every US dollar and minute.
The Result
The film was completed and delivered on time. The Demon’s Child was dubbed into multiple languages and distributed online, achieving over 10 million views on YouTube across various channels. It became one of the most widely viewed and impactful projects in my portfolio, proving that a strong creative vision and disciplined execution can overcome even the most difficult production conditions.
