Case Study: SC4
The Challenge
SC4 was a no-budget short film created during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, without sponsors or investors. The production faced multiple hurdles: working entirely outdoors at night, dealing with harsh weather, sourcing challenging locations like wrecked cars and junkyards, and operating under strict health restrictions. With no access to studio facilities and a limited team, the odds were stacked against us.
The Approach
This film became a perfect example of collaborative problem-solving. I worked side by side with a team of all-female producers, an empowering experience that brought strong energy and clear communication to the project. United by the film’s social message, we gathered a passionate cast and crew willing to work for the story. I handled production planning and creative direction, and also edited the final film. When unexpected rain compromised our final night shoot, I proposed shifting the scene to a warehouse and creatively restructured the final sequence in post-production to preserve its emotional impact.
The Result
SC4 was completed in just two intense nights and went on to receive multiple awards and festival selections, including Best International Producer at the prestigious Venice Short Film Festival. It remains one of the most emotionally charged and rewarding projects I’ve led, proof that with passion, teamwork, and a clear vision, even the most limited productions can make a lasting impact.
